The joy of a baby in the family is indescribable. Yet, the addition of a baby brings additional responsibilities and expenses with it. One of the most significant expenses incurred is that of getting a stroller or pushchair for your baby. One would think it to be an easy task to choose a pushchair given the wide variety of models in the market. However, this can be a daunting task as each product claims to have the best set of features for your baby. Here are a set of key attributes you need to look out for while choosing the right pushchairs strollers, which will make your life easier.
Juggling a baby and his pushchair requires the ability to multitask, and more so if you are managing the baby by yourself. Pushchairs therefore need to be of the easy folding type, capable of being folded by a single hand. Another major plus is the ability of a stroller to lean against a wall than having to put it down flat.
A large all-weather canopy is also an essential feature to protect your baby from any kind of weather. A reclining seat and adjustable handles take care of both you and your baby’s comfort. In addition, if shopping trips are on your regular list of activities, be sure to invest in a pushchair that has an add-on shopping basket.
One last element that needs to be kept in mind is that the pushchair you choose should meet you baby’s growing needs. So, you should find one that has adjustable seating, footrests and straps to ensure that your baby can continue to use the chair till he is ready to walk.

Big Foot Relay. Get the children bring 2 shoeboxes with them. Tape the hats onto the corners, then cut a one-inch-wide and four-inch long slit in to each one top. Get the contestants slip their feet into the slits in the boxes and race.
Frisbee Tower. Buy a bunch of mini Frisbees and direct them in a pile in the midway of the grounds. Have the guests carve up the Frisbees among themselves. The first player begins the activity by placing one of his or her Frisbees on the ground. Each of the following players places his or her Frisbee on top of the first Frisbee, and the action proceeds until someone causes the growing tower to topple.
Blind Walk. Create an obstacle path from one end of the yard to the other. Line up the contestants and let them have a honest look at the path. One at a time, blindfold the children and have them walk the path without looking. Note each player’s time on the scoreboard.
Drag the Body. Fraction the group into two teams. Give each team a blanket. Have one player from each team lie down on the blanket. The teams must pull the body on the blanket from one end of the yard to the other. Whoever crosses the finish line first, wins.

Last month, we were swamped with a soar of questions from primary schools regarding our drinking water fountains. The first of these was from a school in Lincoln who are wanting to be able to supply drinking water for all nippers in every classroom. The Victorian primary school was searching to substitute worn sinks in each class with a classy wall mounted fountain sink. This simple unit has very small measurements and merely has a bubbler for children to guzzle from. With wall mounted sinks the drinking water comes straight from the mains supply, is filtered through a water filter if necessary and emerges out of the bubbler when a simple knob is pressed. The basicshape of wall mounted sink is without a chilling unit and thence the water comes out of the bubbler at mains water temperature. The second enquiry was for an outdoor freestanding water fountain for the heart of a childrens play area. There are many fountains built in the UK that are fit for big usage outdoor surroundings. We were able to find three special fountains that accommodated the remit including one that has been especially conditioned for a primary school where the drinking area is at 800mm rather than the 1 metre suited to adults.

Sophia had been Joshua’s babysitter for the past two years. She had been taking good care of him and he too was fond of her, but lately I found her acting a little strange! I don’t know if I was imagining it or just being paranoid for Joshua’s safety!!
In the beginning, Sophia was an excellent babysitter. But now, as she’s was growing older and experiencing the thrills of being a teenager, she has not been doing a great job. There had been a few instances when she had forgotten to give Joshua his medicines and food on time. When I would ask her about it, she would give me evasive answers.
The worst I guess was yet to come in my share of troubles with the babysitter when one day I came home early from work to find Joshua unattended in the kitchen and trying to drag some knives off the countertop. When I asked him where Sophia was he pointed towards our bedroom door, which was closed. Worried that maybe she was trying to steal some valuables I rushed in to stop her!
Imagine my horror I discovered that our trusted babysitter had been calling her good for nothing boyfriend over to our house while we were away and making out with him while leaving my son unsupervised. That was the last straw for me! I lost my cool and threw both of them out of my house. I called up her parents as well and informed them about what had happened. I still can’t believe she had the audacity to bring her boyfriend into my house! It’s sickening to even think about it!!

One of the most popular grounds for wearing glasses is shortsightedness
For a bundle of reasons, a person might become short sighted. The offical term for this is nearsightedness. When somebody is shortsighted, they can’t focus well into the distance, but they can see rather sharply, when looking up close at things.
The degree to which one is myopic depends on the powers of the cornea and the lens of the eye and the length of the eyeball. In a normal eye the incoming visual images meet on the retina in the back of the eye. If these visual images converge in front of the retina instead of on the retina, then one is shortsighted.
shortsightedness does decreases in later life. This appears not to be related to a lessening in close work as is often hinted on the other hand rather due to some agent intrinsically related to ageing. It has been theorized the power of the lens of the eye changes in later life.
Overall, 25 percent of those living in the United States are shortsighted.
Using a variety of techniques, trained eye practitioners can assess whether or not a child is able to focus clearly. They use play, retinoscopy and refraction to help them do this carefully.
To assess the specific nature of your myopia, specific tests will need to be carried out to look at how well your eyes can focus on nearby as well as far away targets. Your eye movements will also be assessed as might your retina.
There are many children who will be falsely assessed to be nearsighted, because of their natural tendency to over focus. To counter this, a trained eye pratitioner will often elect to dilate the pupils with some eye drops to prevent the child’s lenses from over correcting.
If you have myopia, you will need to have spectacles prescribed. If your child has been diagnosed with myopia and are under 4, then they may get away with not wearing eyeglasses unless their vision is particularly bad.
Once a child starts school, then being able to focus on the board becomes important for learning, etc. So they should be regularly assessed for the need to wear glasses or the need to change their prescription.
The spectacles are then usually worn full time, except for children with difficulty with convergence (esophoria), who may remove their spectacles for close work.

Although it might seem pretty corny to a lot of folks today, the old Andy Griffith Show really did have a lot of common sense family values that we could learn from today.
Take for instance the episode “Bailey’s Bad Boy” that guest starred Bill Bixby as a spoiled rich teenager who wanted his rich dad to bail him out of jail once he got in trouble in Mayberry. Bixby’s character sees the perfect example of parenting from Andy when Taylor makes Opie stand on his own two feet and pay for a window he had broken. Too often in real life we bail our kids out of everything. You don’t really do your kid a favor when you take away any chance they might have of getting a personal sense of responsibility. No matter how small the occurrence if your child breaks something even by accident, take the time to explain to the child the importance of taking responsibility for the things we do. I’m not saying you should get angry and act like the Incredible Hulk, just explain to the kid that if he breaks things or makes a mess he has to clean it up, and then make sure they do.
One of the most famous episodes of Andy Griffith was the episode entitled “Opie the Birdman”. Opie accidentally kills a mother bird leaving her baby birds all alone. Andy doesn’t sugar coat the situation. He doesn’t yell and scream like a cat under a rocking chair either. He just simply opens a window and let’s Opie hear the baby birds crying for their mother, and points out to Opie the hard fact that his actions have consequences. Sometimes we shelter our kids from every type of responsibility possible, while at the same time allowing them to absorb hours of violence and sex on the TV and video games.
Today we have more than made sure our kids have material things. They have video games, televisions in their room, so many toys there is not enough time to play with them, but we shirk our responsibility on the biggest, most important part of raising a kid, the part where you actually raise them up to be adults. Fun and toys are great. Every child ought to have fun, but they should be slowly growing up too. So my humble suggestion is like Andy Taylor said make sure your boy or girl can stand on their own two feet. No opportunity is too small to begin instilling these important lessons. It’s just like the Bible says “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. “
Taking your kid fishing like Andy did Opie is not that bad either. If that isn’t your cup of tea then surely you can enjoy going to the park with your kid or playing something outside. Most kids never seem to want to venture outside anymore. They’re missing an important part of development and growing more and more obese every year. Health is another important aspect of life that kids need to take responsibility for. Even children are developing diabetes, which they wouldn’t have normally, due to diet and lack of physical activity. The fact of the matter is, in the long run protecting our kids from facing the consequences of their actions today will mean greater consequences later down the line. So be like Andy and open the window and let your kid hear the birds, and don’t be afraid to let him or her pay for a broken window occasionally.

The method know as 3d ultrasound scanning is used in early pregnancy, it can provide 3d pictures of the unborn child. Most of the time these images are rapidly captured and combined and animated to created a “4d ultrasound”.
Three dimensional scanning works in the same manner to the normal ultrasound methods except that the ultrasound pulses are sent from multiple directions. The waves are redirected back and captured and provide information to construct a 3-dimensional image in very much the same way as 3d pictures. 3d ultasound scanning was first developed by olaf von ramm and stephen smith in america.
It is important to understand that sonologists all over the world always conjured 3d images of the body in their minds while doing 2d scans. However, until recently it was impossible to do this type of reconstruction on on info using ultasound scanning. With the advent of ultrasound baby scans for the first time allowed us a peek into the thinking of a sonologist and hence letting us see the images on the ultrasound machine.
4d ultrasound imaging should utilize ultrasound energy following the same limits as conventional 2d ultrasound to create the 3d images. There is no data to suggest harm due to 3d ultasound scanning, its use in none medical situations needs to be undertaken with the understanding of the risks.
